ADDRESSING THE COMPLEX CHALLENGES THAT ARISE FROM MIGRATION, TRAFFICKING, MODERN SLAVERY AND ORGANISED CRIME.

ADDRESSING THE COMPLEX CHALLENGES THAT ARISE FROM MIGRATION, TRAFFICKING, MODERN SLAVERY AND ORGANISED CRIME.

TAKING A DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

Everyday across the globe people are being forced to uproot their homes, work for little or no money and engage in illicit activities to survive conflicts, instability and a marginalised existence. Those who can, take advantage of people's vulnerabilities to exploit and profit for their own gain.

ITERU is a network of practitioners, researchers and big thinkers committed to addressing challenges that arise from migration, trafficking, modern slavery and organised crime in fragile and conflict-affected states. Taking a development approach, we bring together nuanced local knowledge and international expertise to deliver locally-relevant, evidence-based responses with an emphasis on ethical delivery.

ACROSS THE WORK WE DO, WE PUT AN EMPHASIS ON SUSTAINABLE, ETHICAL DELIVERY.

DESIGNING RESPONSES THAT WORK

ITERU has a diverse track record of working with governments, implementers, research centres and private sector clients to deliver subject-matter expertise, policy and programming advice, strategic direction, research and monitoring, evaluation and learning.

Given the very real challenges we work across and the vulnerable populations they affect, ITERU applies a strong ethical framework to all the work we do. We focus on beneficiaries as the subject of interventions, centering our responses around the realities and lived experiences of those at risk. We are closely guided by an in-depth understanding of the context and practical experience of what works, risks and unintended consequences.

WE USE INNOVATIVE LEARNING AND RESEARCH METHODS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE GLOBAL EVIDENCE BASE

BUILDING THE EVIDENCE BASE

The current evidence base on migration, trafficking, modern slavery and organised crime is limited. While it is constantly growing thanks to the efforts of the global community, the dynamic nature of these challenges means data and research quickly becomes outdated.

ITERU works across North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, in some of the most difficult operating environments. Through scoping studies, research projects and data collection for monitoring and evaluation we tackle sensitive topics and deliver a wealth of data and insights on otherwise "hidden" and highly vulnerable people and groups.
